Häfele Live at Interzum 2009: Experience optimum functionality

This year’s event has special significance for the organisers and their partner Häfele. The exhibition is celebrating its 50th birthday, and Häfele has been in existence for 85 years. Häfele subsidiary Schneider, system partner for functional workplace design, is also 100 years of age. Three good reasons for celebrating together.
The Interzum exhibition in Cologne is the international shop window for the furniture accessory industry. The 1,100 square metre stand belonging to Häfele, the internationally leading specialist for hardware technology and locking systems, is a unique communication platform and a popular rendezvous for furniture manufacturers and designers. On the occasion of Interzum’s 50th birthday, the special theme for the company’s exhibition appearance is “Smart Spaces”. A wide range of new products and clever ideas can be viewed in the Häfele living and working environments “In Motion” on the exhibition stand in hall 7. The 2009 living trend is dominated by the desire to overcome the classical separation of the bedroom, the bathroom and the working, dining and living areas. The individual room increases in size, but less and less storage space is available. Häfele solves this apparent contradiction in an innovative way with clever storage space concepts and intelligent use of existing surfaces, spaces and recesses. Häfele extends the functionality of furniture and makes it flexible, mobile, rotating, sliding and moveable, or just makes it disappear altogether if it is not needed. Modern hardware is hightech – it may be out of sight, but it is all the more noticeable in our everyday lives. It provides the furniture user with real added value and motivation. Hardware technology has become synonymous with furniture innovation, comfort and functionality. Häfele’s goal is therefore to exhibit its interpretations and solutions for “Smart Spaces” (elegant habitats, intelligent living areas and flexible working environments), and highlight future furniture and furnishing requirements to the international expert public in a relaxed atmosphere. The modular production of furniture for different requirements that is made possible using Häfele hardware technology also increases the range of variants that can be produced using industrial manufacturing systems. The results will be shown on the exhibition stand on the example of a living room and a kitchen that represent different lifestyles.
